Overview
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee acts as the advisory committee for future planning of city parks, recreation opportunities, ongoing programs, special events, and other matters related to leisure services for the citizens. This committee also recommends needed maintenance and physical improvements for the city parks and green space.
The committee consists of 7 members, 4 of which are to represent each of these following groups:
Primary and Elementary Age
Teenage
Young and Middle Age
Senior Citizens
The Chairman is a member of and appointed by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Currently, this board meets monthly. Meetings are the third Monday at 6 p.m., held at City Hall.
