K9 Division

The La Vergne Police Department currently supports four K9 officers who work with police dogs. These dogs are important members of the department and are regularly used to locate, apprehend, and subdue subjects, as well as detect narcotics or missing people. 

K9 Bora

K9 Bora

K9 Bora was born in December of 2018 and first joined LPD in 2019. She has worked with her current handler, Officer Cunningham, since 2023.

Bora is a dual purpose dog. She enjoys playing fetch and her favorite toy is a roped Kong.

K9 Hera

K9 Hera

K9 Hera was born in December of 2020. Hera is a Belgium Malinois. She first joined LPD in November of 2021. Officer Cohea has been Hera's handler since February 2022.

Hera's specialty is narcotics detection, apprehension, tracking article searches, and SWAT. Her favorite toy is a blue kong and her favorite training exercise involves anything that utilizes her nose.

K9 Riton

K9 Riton was born in April 2020 and is a Dutch Shepherd. He was assigned to Officer Fesmire when he joined the department in May 2022.

Riton is a dual purpose dog. He enjoys "chase" related games and any toy that he can tear the stuffing out of. His favorite training exercise is article search training.

K9 Turbo

K9 Turbo was born in May of 2019 in the Netherlands and is a Belgian Malinois. He first joined LPD in May 2021 when he was assigned to his handler, Officer Darby.

Turbo's specialty is narcotics detection, article searches, area and building searches, tracking, and apprehension. His favorite toy is a ball on a rope and loves to play fetch. He is very athletic and loves training exercises that include crawling, climbing, and jumping exercises.
