Lt. David Durham graduated MTSU in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a double minor in psychology and political science. While attending MTSU, he interned at the La Vergne Police Department in 2001. He later began his career in law enforcement at Vanderbilt University Police Department in 2002 as a patrol officer. He joined La Vergne PD in 2003 as a patrol officer. In 2005, he was promoted to the Narcotics Division and worked as a Detective there until 2009 when he transferred to the Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) as a general Detective. In 2010, he was promoted to CIB Corporal and was awarded Officer of the Year from Rutherford County Crime Stoppers. In 2012, he was promoted to CIB Sergeant and graduated from Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. He has a passion for effective leadership and continuous personal growth. He has attended many training courses to develop his leadership and communication skills which led to his promotion to Lieutenant of the Criminal Investigations Bureau in 2017.
