Public Works Facility Construction Update

The new Public Works and Community Development Services facility construction is staying on track with an expected completion expected in November of this year. Most recently, windows have been installed and workers are beginning to put up drywall in some areas, while others are still under exterior construction.

The new facility on E. Nir Shreibman, near the roundabout, will become home to departments including water billing, economic development, information technology, codes, planning, engineering, stormwater, and public works departments including streets, fleet maintenance, water, and sewer. The project was designed by Lambe + Associates and the construction was awarded to Baron Construction, LLC.

Improvements Completed at Veterans Memorial Park

The walking trail at Veterans Memorial Park repaving project is complete. The old pathway was starting to show it's age and was in desperate need of some TLC. The project was part of the 2024-25 Parks and Recreation budget.

This fiscal year also includes plans to install all new play equipment and swings at Mankin Park as well as playground resurfacing at Lake Forest Park.

Fire Station 41 Grand Opening

The City of La Vergne Fire and Rescue Department hosted and grand opening ceremony and dedication on August 20. The station was dedicated to the memory of former Fire Chief Richard "Ricky" McCormick who passed away in 2018. Firefighters also had a push-in ceremony for the City's new E1 Pumper apparatus.

“This station is a great milestone for the City of La Vergne,” says Fire Chief Ronny Beasley. “A lot of time, energy, and a great deal of thought has gone into not only the design of the building itself, but how we can utilize this structure to best serve both the needs of La Vergne and the needs of our firefighters. I am extremely proud to be a part of this moment in the City’s history.”
